Dazzle ‘Em combines wheel-thrown clay with experimental glaze techniques and nontraditional materials. In this work I explore how ceramics continuously absorbs new influences while maintaining a dialogue with its past. Layered glazes flow and merge unpredictably across the clay body, embracing chance as a collaborator. Hand-applied rhinestones and jewelled embellishments extend the ceramic surface beyond conventional boundaries, introducing materials more often associated with adornment, craft, and popular culture. These additions challenge assumptions about preciousness and decoration while celebrating ornament as a meaningful carrier of cultural expression.

​Dazzle ‘Em reflects the enduring capacity of clay to hold history while remaining open to new identities, materials, and ways of making. While the vase honours inherited traditions of form and process, its surface becomes a site of experimentation and transformation.
