‘The Crochet Series,’ delves into the transformative nature of materials, merging traditional crochet techniques with unconventional slip casting methods. Within this exploration, I contemplate the notion of vessels that are inherently incapable of fulfilling their intended function, yet paradoxically undergo a journey of growth. Through a meticulous process with a 50% success rate, vessels emerge as ethereal shells, reminiscent of fossils or relics of a past existence. The burnt remnants of cotton yarn encased within the porcelain forms serve as an archive, capturing the essence of what once was, and highlighting the inherent vulnerability of these vessels. Through this juxtaposition of fragility and form, viewers are invited to ponder the intricacies of transformation, memory and organic evolution.
